"Green” and “Sustainable” building are terms used to describe the practice of environmentally responsible building. A green building is a structure designed, built, renovated, operated, or reused in an ecological and resource-efficient manner. Green buildings are designed to meet certain objectives such as protecting occupant health; using energy, water, and other resources more efficiently; and reducing the overall impact to the environment.
What is a green home? Unique Designs defines a green home as a home that reduces the consumption of energy, water, and natural resources; exhibits sustainability; creates less waste; and is healthier for those living in it.

Energy Efficient – Describes property or products designed to reduce the use of electricity and dependence on fossil fuels.
Water Efficient – Conservative and efficient use of water through reduction of household water and waste water.
Sustainable Materials – Choose materials that are durable, renewable, recycled, recyclable, and local.
Awareness/Education – Unique Designs finds great importance in the continued education of our clients to “keep our green homes green”.
